Martin Sköld
Harry Per Martin Sköld was born in october 1970,
probably in Sparreholm and moved to Eskilstuna when he was about 6 years
old. He wasn't very good at school, as he says himself, he rather played
theater but quit that to concentrate more on playing bass with the band.
He agreed with Jocke Berg in 1990 that it was cool to form a band together
with Sami Sirviö. He met Markus Mustonen not much later and Harri
Mänty is his best friend.
When he moved to Stockholm in 1993, he got a job
at Stockholm Records, which didn't gave him a record deal, but he got in
touch with swedish band the Cardigans, the bands are still friends together,
also with other swedish band Whale by the way.
He doesn't pick up an instrument with more than four
strings (four are enough, something a lot of bassplayers seem to think),
but he dared to play keyboards on 'Isola'. Hmm, there are more things you
have to think about then, herr Sköld....
He seems, like the rest of the band, a real party
animal and he likes to have sex. He also enjoys taking one hour long showers
in the morning and reading the swedish girls magazine 'Veckorevyn'. What
he also enjoys is eating vanilla ice cream and drinking vodka lemon, something
that does go together, we think.
Martin seems to be a funny guy. He fuzzed about the
pronunciation of his first name with a dutch 'vj' at the music channel
TMF. The poor girl just didn't seem to get it right and also pronounced
'Isola' wrong which irritated him a little bit as well. Lucky for her she
didn't try to pronounce his last name Sköld....
